Hiking with the Alpine Initiative

Hike across the Alps and discover their secrets. Search for wild herbs in enchanted valleys. Wander southwards along old smuggler paths. Stop off at a warm mountain hut after a walk in the rain. Hike from Alpine summits to the Mediterranean. Dive into a clear mountain lake after a hard climb. Hike with us – for a week, or a week-end.

Because the Alpine Initiative not only wants to protect the Alps, but to rediscover them together with you.

Since 1990, we have drawn up an attractive annual programme of hikes in the most beautiful mountain regions: Piedmont and Valtellina, the Zlatorog in Slovenia, passes in Valais, Graubünden and Ticino, nature reserves in the Hohe Tauern, Gran’Paradiso and Mercantour mountains… and even the Pyrenees.

For insurance reasons, only members can participate. Another good reason to join the Alpine Initiative!

Alpine Initiative

The Alpine Initiative is a Swiss asscociation. In 1989 the association launched the popular initiative "for the protection of the Alpine region from transit traffic", that was accepted on the 20th February 1994 by a majority of both the Swiss population and the cantons.
